Next!

Yet another weekend has flown past, and as usual we were too busy for me to try and blog half way through. As a result, here is your long read.

Friday was a slow day at work, especially taking into account that we had a "moral building" admin lunch that started at 1 and ran until about 2:30. There was lots of yummy food and we were all full and sleepy afterwards. That probably inspired the email that came around at 3, telling us that we could head home early, if we wanted. Yeah, Theresa!

I had a bit of a nap, then Stuart and I headed to Steve's house. Mike and Ang had given the twins to the grandparents for a couple of days, so they wanted to get out of their house! We wanted "Wanted" and "Babylon AD" and ate pizza and Marble Slab ice cream cake. It wasn't the most involved, exciting birthday party ever, but I think Stuart had a good time. (Babylon AD wasn't really what I was expecting somehow. I've heard that they shot way too much film, and I have a sneaking suspicion that some really good stuff got left on the floor. Faced with a cut, they made it into a standard action movie, but there are hints of some really interesting social, political and ethical discussion possibilities. I think I'm going to have to find the book.)

Saturday was Valentine's Day, and we had planned to just stay home in our pj's and do nothing but watch DVDs and snuggle. That was mostly what happened, but we did have to mix in some house cleaning, since we'd let it slide to get our assignments done and Stuart's parents were due for a visit on Sunday! We spent Sunday morning on errands and a grocery run before Stuart went for a run and I headed off to do a shiatsu treatment. His parents had arrived when I got home and we fed them yummy homemade butter chicken with coconut rice and asparagus for dinner.

On Monday, they had some visiting to do, so after breakfast they were off. We went to the gym and then puttered around the house. It was mid-afternoon when Geoff arrived to deliver Cleo, along with her tank and all the accoutrements. It fits perfectly on the dining room wall and it's nice to have her around again. She shed last night as well, which make life interesting for Stuart's parents, who got to hear all the commotion! Dinner last night was a reservation at Booker's for all you can eat crab. Unfortunately, when we got there, they were running low and no longer offering the all you can eat. We each chose a regular entree which was ok, but the whole thing was slightly disappointing. But at least Stuart's dad paid! LOL

This morning, Stuart's parents left just before I did, heading to a breakfast date with friends before continuing to Medicine Hat. And after that crazy weekend, we're all back at work. I could have used more time off, but at least it's a short week. And I'll be buying lottery tickets tonight!
