All women should live so long as to be this kind of old lady!
Toward the end of Sunday service, the Minister asked, 'How many of you have forgiven your enemies?'
80% held up their hands.
The Minister then repeated his question. All responded this time, except one small elderly lady.
'Miss Joyce''; 'Are you not willing to forgive your enemies?'
I don't have any.' She replied, smiling sweetly.
'Miss Joyce', that is very unusual. How old are you?'
'Ninety-eight.' she replied.
'Oh,
The little sweetheart of a lady tottered down the aisle, faced the congregation, and said:
'I outlived the bitches.'
I'd say that's definitely something to aim for! However, if I keep sliding on the ice and falling over, my ability to outlive anyone will start to come into question. Yup, on the way to the gym last night, I hit a patch of frozen melt water and went down hard. I landed on my ass, so at least all that padding got put to use, but I also smacked down a hand to keep momentum from sliding my butt out and smacking my head. So in the end, I have a bone bruise on my behind, a bruised palm where it hit a rock, a jammed wrist and a wrenched elbow. (Typing is definitely keeping me aware of it!) Not to mention the general aches and pains of the twists you do trying to keep your balance and the shock of the hard landing. I really want a hot tub and a good masseuse, but instead, I'm at work. Sigh.
I did go to the gym anyway and just did cardio, since sitting or grabbing things seemed like a painful idea. We handed in our assignments in Colour Theory and got the run down on the second half of class. Eek! Some of it is dead simple; perhaps to make up for the ridiculously challenging stuff? The one I'm dreading is a pointellist reproduction of a picture using only the process primaries (cyan, yellow, magenta) and black. This is a combination of at least three things I have no practice or inherent skill at, to be finished in a month in the midst of the rest of my life. Doomed, doomed, doomed.
I'm not thinking about it this weekend though. Today at work, we're having a morale building admin lunch, which will actually be ok: I like most of these ladies and we get lasagna and other goodies. Tonight is Stuart's birthday party with our friends, which will be fun and more good food! Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, which Stuart and I have decided to spend at home, in our pjs, doing only good stuff. Then we get to meet a BRT, host Stuart's parents and go out for all you eat crab. Yeah!!!!
