I almost forgot to mention! I went this morning to the massage therapist that Stuart saw, to get some myo-fascial release done on my feet. We got along quite well and I was very happy with the treatment. It hurt a lot and it's been very distracting all day. The knots and crunchies that I've gotten used to walking over are gone (yeah!), but of course, she had to apply a lot of pressure to get them out, so they're all kind of bruised feeling.
She pointed out, quite rightly!, that I've likely got knee/hip/joint issues, although at this point whether they are cause or effect is not really determinable, nor does it matter. So she worked on some thigh muscle and a lot in the calves as well. So not only are they sore, but I've spent the day hyper-aware of all the misalignments in my body. Kind of a win some/lose some situation.
So, I plan to become a regular and let her help me bash things back into alignment. I'm hoping she's good enough to help guide me to helpful exercises and stretches in the gym too. I completely agree with her that self-diagnosis never works and I do need someone to help me with that. (I'm still going to see the podiatrist in a while, but I no longer feel quite so much like it's my last, only hope.)
Here's hoping for pain-free feet, maybe by the end of the summer!
