Imaginarium

I was having totally weird dreams again last night.  The one I remember best involved the world ending and people who could only get to heaven if I gave them a shiatsu treatment.  Why was the world ending?  Why a shiatsu treatment?  How did anyone know?  Who knows?  I was too busy giving treatments to get any details...  And I slept through my alarm this morning.

I got ready to go and walked Carmen to the Metro; from there I went to the travel store to get more neck pillows for the ladies.  I got enough for all the requests and headed over to the recovery home.  Everyone is doing good today - Michelle and Veronique are just tooling along, Kate and Emily are starting to get past the pain and the new group would be arriving this afternoon.  We hung out for a large chunk of the day, chatting, playing cards and generally passing the time.

Carmen and I left a little early to try and miss the crush on the public transit.  We went downtown to buy a kennel for Beth (Kate's chihuahua) and then got dinner at a place called "Amir".  Mmmm... shwarma with roast potatoes and salad.  Yummy!  We were wandering around killing time before the movie, when Carmen decided she needed the Black Forest mini-cake in the cafe.  I had a jam centered sugar cookie and a lovely mug of tea.  Then, it was time for the movie.

We'd originally thought to see Daybreakers, but it wasn't playing at the handy theater, so we went to the Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus instead.  It was most definitely a Terry Gilliam movie - the colours, the obsessive detailing, the weird plot devices that don't always tie together or even get resolved.  I don't think I'd always like it, but it definitely fit in with surreal nature of this trip.  I'd recommend it, as long as you're not the type that requires everything to make sense!

And I still miss Stuart.  I had no one to smooch during the kissing scenes... :(
