I know, I didn't post yesterday, sorry.  But there was really nothing particularly interesting to post.  Short of divine intervention, Michelle is healing as well as anyone could wish.  Today was a bit more interesting, because she got the stent taken out and got to start dilating.  Dilators are really just dildos, in an intriguing array of sizes, called by a fancy name.  It's not as fun as it sounds though, given that the orifice in question is brand new and the sutures are still healing.  For now, I guess it's all work and the good bits come later...

We played more cards today and she sat up on the couch for longer than she's managed to date.  The catheter comes out soon and then (assuming everything is still going well) she might get a day pass!

In other news, I went in and tried on "the shoes" today.  I've been walking past them in the store window every day, twice a day since I arrived.  Carmen thought they looked like my style and when I popped in the other day, they were on sale.  So I tried them on today; only two pair left in the store and one was in my size!  It's fate, I tell's ya.  I have a couple of patterns I've been putting off sewing up, because, among other things I didn't have shoes to go with, so that'll be next on the "to do" list.  Along with Steve's curtains, the bbq cover, the race tent and everything else in the queue.  LOL

A few thoughts on my experience of Montreal to date.  I don't know if anyone has official numbers, but in my travels, Montreal definitely wins for the most smokers per capita.  I'm constantly having to go around knots of puffers on the sidewalk - it's disgusting.  The only slim saving grace is that at least they don't seem to leave the butts lying around.

People in Montreal also seem to have a different set of rules for public interaction.  Everyone on public transit gets up to let older or sick folk have seats, but they'll jostle and cut in front and generally be rude as hell the rest of the time.  And walking home from dinner tonight was just depressing - Mont-Royal and St. Denis were full of couples holding hands and snuggling in the cold.  I missed Stuart.

I'm sure there were other things I meant to mention, but now I can't remember them.  Oh well.
