So, Stuart took Ursa off to the vet this morning for her surgery. We had quite a discussion about whether or not to give her breakfast, since they hadn't mentioned anything about fasting. When I got to work, they'd left a voice mail message on my work line on Saturday, saying that she could have Sunday dinner, but not Monday breakfast. We'd compromised and given her a bit of breakfast and I guess that was ok.
Stuart called just before noon to say he'd heard from the vet's office. All four of her canines were cracked, so they removed them. The lower right one had started to abscess, but it seemed to be limited to the tooth and hadn't moved into the jaw yet, so it should be fine. We should expect her adult teeth to start coming through in about two months. We're supposed to bring her back at that point, because apparently the roots are quite long and somehow this could cause problems? I'm not sure, but we get to meet with the dentist when we pick up Ursa later this afternoon, so I guess I'll get the skinny then.
All in all, in turned out to be the best case of all the possible options, so I'm happy. Ursa is now apparently about 50 lbs - which means having her spayed in another 2 months or so is going to cost a fortune!
In other news, I've finally started editing and posting the China pictures, so you can find them here. More will be added as I get to them, so keep watching.
