Sleep, Interrupted

After doing two back to back shiatsu treatments yesterday, I was ready to crawl into bed and have a nice, deep sleep. Alas, it was not to be... as the local university students are finishing up their exams for the term. The party house across the street was in full swing and I have to say that usually, other than using up all the street parking, it's not an issue. However, last night some dorks parked their big, red, shiny pick-up right in front of our house, and (I think) were using it to toke up in relative comfort. With the dance music blasting.

It's hard to sleep when your eardrums are going "thump, thump, thump", so I got up, threw on a housecoat and did my best crazy cat lady impression. I must look even scarier at night, or it was a particularly paranoiac blend of weed, 'cause as soon as they realized that I was complaining, the radio was off, the truck was off and they were back in the house. Aaaaaahhh... blissful sleep.

Until about 2 hours later when they were back to maintain the buzz. They'd left the volume cranked, so when they turned on the truck, we all got about 15 seconds of "thump" until they got it turned off. Just enough to startle me awake and keep me from falling right back asleep. I thought about calling the cops, but on the whole, it just didn't seem worth it - you can't regulate against stupidity or youth, unfortunately.

Of course, as far as I can tell, Stuart slept through the whole thing...
