The calendar is getting busy again and somehow I always seem to find myself thinking I'm about three days ahead of when I actually am. Oh well, time's relative, right?
To catch you up on the weekend's excitement, I should mention that we had our landlords over for dinner on Saturday night. I think it went really well - they seemed to enjoy the food and we talked for about 3 hours. I don't think Ellen is 100% thrilled with our getting a dog, but we gave her the signed paper saying that we'd pay for any damage and we showed her puppy pictures, which probably helped more than anything! We also talked about her involvement with the local community association, which seems to have been taken over by a couple of shysters. Stuart gave her some advice and we may mix in ourselves, if it seems warranted. I'll worry about that when it actually happens...
On Sunday, we went to the brunch performance of The Buddy Holly Story at Stage West. It was a good show - moved along, reasonably talented performers; I liked it. We were seated at a table with two older ladies who work for Athabasca University. One of them turned out to be a potential client and we also half-jokingly talked about buying her condo in Point Mackay next year. More stuff to worry about later. We were going to have an entertainment blow-out and go to see Monsters vs. Aliens that night, but it started to snow pretty heavily again, so we stayed home instead.
The insanity about making the wire transfer for Ursa seems to have been sorted out, but at this late date, we all agreed that making one big transfer for all the expenses makes more sense. Now it's just about killing time until she's weaned and we have a better idea of just how much she will weigh when she gets on the plane. The biggest hardship has been that the breeder's internet connection has been having trouble, so there's been no new pictures for AGES!
