Winter Wonderland

The environment has conspired to make it really pretty out there. It's overcast and there's a misty fog hanging in the air, but the trees and everything else are covered in a delicate white frost that is gorgeous. There's supposed to be a Chinook blowing in later today, I hope that it blows off the cloud cover before sunset, so we can get 20 minutes or so of the sun sparkling on all that crystal! Then we'll be back to slush for a day, before we hit the deep freeze again. This has been the wintery-est winter we've had for a while in Alberta.

In the meantime, I have a new and unsettling development in the foot problems. I've now had two instances where, not my calf but my foot muscles, have cramped. I haven't brushed up on those muscles lately, so I'm not sure exactly which one it was, but it hurt like expletives and made my toes curl in strange ways completely outside of my control. Wait, here you go, I believe it was the flexor digitorum brevis and extensor hallucis longus. Stuart suggested that my salt intake may have dropped again, particularly since we've been back at the gym, so I'm going to fix that and see what happens. If this continues, I may have to bite the bullet and find a podiatrist. Sigh.

Also, we haven't decided for sure yet, but we may have to postpone the housewarming party - not because we aren't ready, but because the response so far has been completely flat. You can't win for trying, I tell's ya.
