2 sleeps

I did a treatment last night for a client and it was the last "other thing" to do before I leave on Saturday. As I result, I hardly slept last night for thinking about everything I needed to do, what I might have forgotten, etc. I'm not sure why I'm at work, because I'm going to be absolutely useless. I must try and go slow, double-check things before I finalize them, 'cause I'm sure not on my A game!

I've always been annoyed by people who go on vacation and come back with 800 pictures of random things. I don't have the patience to sit through that, and as a result, I've come back from trips in the past and wished I'd taken more pictures. I think the trick might be to take lots and lots, on the theory that that will increase the percentage of good ones. Then winnow it down to a reasonable number to show to people. So when I found out about the trip, I wandered over to Future Shop and spent $50 on a two-case of Lexar 2GB SD cards. At home, I opened the packaging, checked that they were both functional and tucked them away in my camera case. And so, now, of course, I can only find one of them.

It's not a huge deal - I plan to take a couple of USB keys and transfer my photos whenever I get the chance. Makes more space and avoids the "lost all my pics when my camera was stolen" scenario that I went through in Hawaii. But it's annoying, I hadn't even used it! I was in Future Shop the other day, so I took another look - you'd think with everyone going to High Speed SD (which my camera is too old to use), the prices would drop on the old SD, but apparently not. Bastards!

I've also decided to buy another app - this one for weather. The one that comes on the iTouch is pretty useless for foreign weather. China seems to be lumped into three city listings that put Beijing and Shanghai in one listing. Since over the last week, their weather has been different by about 10 degrees and one has had rain that the other hasn't - that's less than useful. I found an app that has temp (F or C), wind speed, humidity, 5 day forecast, airport listings and more city listings, so hopefully it will be worth the $5.

Well, I guess that's enough stalling, I should at least pretend that I'm working!
