As background to this blog, I should tell you that my sister and I split the genome when it comes to hair. Mine is straight and hers is super, ringlet curly. Of course, we spent large portions of our lives wishing that we could somehow magically swap hair. I spent hundreds of dollars on perms that pulled out after a month and Megan spent hours every morning before school trying to blow-dry hers straight.
Megan got back from 6 weeks at the Ontario cottage last night, so today I had lunch with her and the kids. Ella spent quite a bit of time playing with my hair. "It's so smooth and beautiful. You have hair like a princess!" As a four and a half year old girl, Ella is fairly obsessed with princesses. Then she said, "I wish I had princess hair like yours!" And you know what, she has a point - I can't think of any pop culture princesses that have curly hair! Wavy yes, but actually curly, no.
Pixar! take note - next movie we need a ringleted princess, please.
