Stuart and I spent last weekend in Edmonton, and although we got most of everything we'd planned done, it was still a less than stellar trip. Saturday night I was feeling a bit under the weather and by Sunday, there was no doubt. I had a cold.
And, it seems, it wasn't just a little cold, but some variation of this season's nasty bug. Every mucus membrane and lymph node about my collarbones was swollen and sore. This, of course, resulted in a dry, painful cough. I had surprisingly little moving congestion and I could usually breathe just fine, but my upper sinuses were chock-a-block and I had a headache for about 4 days running. No real fever, thank goodness, but aches and pains and creaks - oh my! Even my tooth sockets hurt for a while.
So I've been drinking onion/garlic/ginger mix and tea and oj until I feel like nothing more than a liquids processing plant. I've been napping and doing nothing much but staring at movies or books.
And now, I'm feeling better. Not well, exactly, but much improved. So I guess tomorrow I get to forge out through all the snow that's fallen while I've been hibernating and head back to work. See if I remember anything and meet the new tech writers who started on Monday.
And I've had my cold for this winter now. I don't want any more. Are you listening???
