Last Full Day

I spent the morning fighting with my remote connection, trying to do some screen caps.  I don't know why I bother!

I left in time to pick up some lunch from Asian Fusion for Kate's mom and myself.  It was pretty tasty; she had wonton soup and beef with broccoli, I had hot & sour soup and Thai basil chicken.  That cleaned out the sinuses!  After lunch, Michelle and I went for a walk - outside!  We wandered along the river for a bit and then through the neighbourhood around the recovery house.  She did quite well and I think we both felt better about the trip home tomorrow.

We played some more cards and I said goodbye to Kate and her mom, who are leaving super-early in the morning.  Then I headed back on the Metro to have my bath.  (As mentioned, Veronique and Carmen got me a gift certificate to Le Bath Room for a flotation bath.)  I'd never had one before, and it was pretty awesome.  You get a shower first, and then you get in the bath.  The tub is a circle about 2.5m in diameter and the water is only about 40cm deep.  It's warm but not hot and full of salt (I think she said about 15 lbs of it!)  You turn down the lights, adjust the music and just float around...  Because of the salt you can totally relax and it's comfy because there are no pressure points.  It's lovely.  It's also kind of funny because as the water evaporates, you end up with crystal formations on your skin.  When your hour is over, they turn on the jets and you float to the edge; then you have another shower.

I highly recommend it!

It was truly surreal though, to get out of the warm, floaty, salty water and step out the door into a mass of gently swirling snowflakes.  Fortunately, the walk from Le Bath Room to the hotel is only about 20m, so I didn't exactly have time to get cold.  I've made lunch for Michelle and I, and had a little picnic on the remaining bits in the fridge.  I'm going to get my stuff packed up and ready to go and try to get some sleep tonight.

Tomorrow I get to see my Sweetie and my puppy!
