Whoosh!

Well, time flies and boy do things change! First of all, the remainder of Folk Fest was quite good. We saw some awesome shows: Danny Michel - especially covering "Billy Jean" with Steve Page!, The Wailers, Steve Page, Spirit of the West, The Skydiggers... Makes me wish I was back. Especially considering that the weather was about 99.9% perfect. We had one very brief (3 minutes, maybe) rainshower and everything else was warm and sunny. I even got the veriest hint of a tan on my legs!

In other news, I have accepted a position as Technical Writer with Telvent and given my notice at the University. Now that I have less than two weeks to go here, it seems like things are getting even screwier. (Or it could be that I'm letting myself notice the insanity, now that I can see the light growing at the end of the tunnel.) I'm sure that Telvent will have it's share of annoyances, but I fully expect not to notice them for at least a year, as I'll be busy sucking up all the new info that my brain can absorb.

Having been told by the surgeon's office that my tubal ligation would probably be in July, I gave them a call last week. The nurse was surprised that they'd told me such an early time and led me to understand that it would most likely be toward the end of the year. About half an hour later, the hospital called to offer me September 15 for the surgery. Huh? I took it, of course, and coincidentally, it's the day after Ursa gets her tubes tied.

We did think, briefly, about leaving Ursa and breeding her in a year or two, but decided that that was just folly. Puppies are work and expense, as well as darn cute and we don't even own a house!

And finally, I ordered and received my new MacBook Pro, Time Capsule, 24" screen and assorted other goodies. Last night, Stuart and I went to buy a new desk that will hopefully house all the assorted computer equipment and a kvm switch, so that we don't have to get more equipment!
